Nursing Shortage

About Me

I am currently a Registered Practical Nurse in the process of upgrading to become a Registered Nurse. Moving towards being a Registered Nurse will be my fourth career change. Initially I completed a degree in Physics but then found it too abstract for me, then managed a video store, still not satisfied, at that time became a used car salesman for a period of time before becoming a Registered Practical Nurse. I find satisfaction in the nursing profession but being a Registered Practical Nurse has limitations in the care you can provide to your patients, therefore I decided to work towards becoming a Registered Nurse.

Communication Technology to me is time consuming, as a result didn’t find it interesting. But I think blogging is quite interesting.

Wow,

You've had quite the number of career changes! I wonder if you did nursing first would you be as satisfied or you just like learning and change!?
I agree with the limitations as an RPN, that is also why i'm here too. I hope you're enjoying the RN program!

I took the same road. I went through quite a few adjustments and career adaptations in my life, too. My last one before, I became an RPN was Director of Information Systems with one of the pharmaceutical companies. I found computers very impersonal. So, I was looking for a career that would allow me to contribute to our society. I found out that working with people, gives you content and fulfilment of personal aspirations. Information technology is only a tool that helps us to manage different aspects of our lives.
